1. In the past, submissions have been sent to BunkerSquirrels@gmail.com . As we transition to google forms, emailed submissions will still be accepted. However, submissions may get missed (the reason for the forms), you are strongly encouraged to use the form: Click Here
2. Any Bunker Squirrel submissions sent via email must be WITHIN THE BODY OF THE EMAIL.
no attachments will be opened.
3. Bunker Squirrel submissions should be between 150 and 500 words.
4. Bunker Squirrel submissions include a short biography written in 3rd person even if you have previously sent one.
5. Bunker Squirrel submissions should include all social media links you would like included on your story page.
6. Bunker Squirrel submissions should include links to any books or previous works you would like highlighted at the bottom of your story page.
Please understand, we need these things included in every submission. We cannot track down these details for every author every time. It is too time intensive. Please do us the courtesy of including this information so we can better support you. It helps us avoid charging for services we would prefer to keep free.
-We are a community of authors, if you need help, just ask. Our editor is happy to work with you.
-If you are struggling with your story? Do not be afraid to email and ask for help, if it is far enough in advance, our editor may have time to provide advice. If it is close to the 20th, she will be reviewing submissions—ask, but be aware, there is a lot going on.
-We WILL NOT accept any submissions on the topic of Religion or Politics, as well as submissions containing language that is racist or derogatory to any minority group including sexual orientation. Our goal is to draw readers in, not to exclude. It is a subjective process, but the first priority is to treat every reader and author in high regard. The Fine Print
1. Submission must consist of your own original work.
-It should not be a paraphrase or direct quote of someone else’s work.
-It should not include your own work if you no longer own the copyright.
-It should not include your own work if you do not have the right to submit it to be published both online and in print.
-If you have shared this work online, such as a website or social media, please contact us for an individual answer.
2. You are submitting your story to be published online and print magazines.
This is a publication; therefore, once your story is featured in Bunker Squirrel Magazine, it has been published. That means that Bunker Squirrel Magazine holds the publication rights. The ISSN for this publication is 3069-2334. You may use that when referencing your published work.
3. Authors understand they will not be paid for stories published in Bunker Squirrel Magazine.
